About
Welcome to drlightx.com, where I’ll attempt to disseminate a little bit of knowledge I’ve come across during my travels across the vast internet.
I’m Ben Olsen, a graduate student in physics at Princeton University studying atomic physics. Aside from my academic research, I’m primarily interested in photography, typesetting, saving the planet, and getting computers to do nifty things. I’ve found that there are quite a few topics about which it’s very difficult to find quick information, and I’d like to try and accumulate the subset of things I find most interesting here in my little corner of the internet.
I hope you found what you came for. Send me an email if you think one of my posts is incomplete or incorrect : drlightx.
I also maintain two other websites, art.drlightx.com and ~bolsen. The first is an amateur try at an online art gallery, where you can view some of my photographs and order prints. Since creating the site, I discovered that almost nobody makes any money selling prints of their own photos online, so in the future, I’ll just use the site to show off digital art. The second site is my official Princeton University website, with information most closely related to my academic career. It’s also sort of a testbed for experimental HTML designs (since this site requires far too much structure to goof around with much). I’ll occasionally link to pages on both of these sites, since all three of them are intimately related.
